Human Pledge – The Pledge of Humanity

The purpose of life is to become a true human being. And this is the secret of happiness of individuals, society and entire world. If we look around there is enormous unhappiness. People are confused and seek happiness in pleasures like eating, traveling, sex, pornography, gambling, substance like alcohol, getting pampered in spas, TV internet and movies etc. This short term excitement results in ultimate disappointment. 

The real reason of unhappiness is deterioration of inner quality. No one can lie from self. We are all aware of what we are. We know our real stuff. Failed as human being and unhappy, people generate itch to see fault in others and create nuisance, trouble and unhappiness for others. This results in all sorts of failures, discords, conflicts and crimes. End result is the world around you.

It is becoming more and more important to save and protect human qualities. Unfortunately there are no role models today. Even the moral education in schools has become a routine. Everyone is left to ‘learn’ on own and thus fail. This can and should be avoided. 

All that is required is not to fall in trap. Understand following carefully:

-       Following the path of Righteousness is the only way to real happiness. Develop honest sense of right and wrong and limit actions based on impulses.

-       Do not let temptations overcome wisdom. Make sensible choices.

-       It is never too late. Even if you have made some mistakes, do not feel that there is no point in bringing yourself back on the path of righteousness. It will always make you better and happier.

-       Limit pleasure of senses like pleasure of food, TV and internet, sex etc.

-       Give more time to reading and learning, healthy relationships, sports and fitness, classical music dance and art, social activities and spiritual development.

-       Make the Pledge of Humanity

The Pledge of Humanity

Today is the happiest and turning point day of my life. Today I am taking pledge to become a better Human Being.

I realize that humanity is the real and only source of happiness for me and everyone. It is important for me, my family, my society, my nation and entire world. I understand that I cannot be casual as small wrong deeds will lead to bad personality and unhappiness for me and others. I accept that it is my own responsibility to learn and live a life of humanity.

Today I Pledge that -

-       I will uphold humanity within myself and in the world. I will strive to become a better human being and help others in doing so.

-       I will start and pursue the journey of humanity without any prejudice or condition.

-       I will try my best not to slip on the way but if I do, I will gather myself again, accept the slip and its consequences as another step towards humanity and restart my journey with greater courage, commitment and consistency.

-       I will not stop, give up or hesitate in becoming a better human being due to reason like selfish interest, impulsiveness, carelessness, laziness, greed, fear or any other apparent or ulterior motive.

-       I take responsibility of my acts of commission and omission. I will refrain from rationalizing and justifying my motives and behavior.

-       I will treat all human beings as one and I will treat them with equality, fairness, respect, kindness, forgiveness, compassion and love.

-       I will strive for and practice peace, non violence, truth, honesty and justice in my thoughts, speech and deeds.

-       I will control my desires, lust, anger, hatred, revengefulness, greed, jealousy and possessiveness.

-       I will promote cooperation and healthy competition as agents of growth and development.

-       I will promote self growth through commitment, dedication, courage, knowledge, humbleness, purity, contentment and endurance.

-       I will support organization working towards betterment of humanity be it environment, wildlife, peace and harmony, security, human rights, justice, healthcare, education, poverty elimination and other aspects of human care.

-       I understand and will help others to understand that humanity can survive only if we nurture each other.

-       I will motivate others to take this pledge.

 I pledge to become a better human being and live a complete and meaningful life.

The Human Core

No one can decide who is a good human being or a bad human being. No one has right to judge others.  Everyone has right to live according to own beliefs and choices. On this has gone to other extreme and led to deterioration in over all state of humanity. Humanity has been spoiled by narrow minded selfish interest and manipulation. Situation is alarming. Money has taken undue importance and the resultant destructive competition has led to manipulation, deceit and conflicts. This has become a vicious circle and even the ‘good people’ succumb to this.

Example

In recent news there was an article that in one developed country, doctors are sending patients to radiation therapy in place of cheaper possible treatment because they earn more by doing this. And this is not limited to one country or doctors, but is prevalent worldwide in all sections of society. The deceit can be among individuals, in family, in neighborhood, in offices and professions, in sports, in politics nationally and inter nationally. The short sightedness of people looking for easy gains from lowest to highest level is something like termites eating away the structure which will for sure crumble irrespective of the force that can be applied to keep it intact.

The deceit is going up to the genes. The result is disastrous. The elements of humanity are getting wiped away. There is erosion of positive values like trust, kindness, fairness, empathy etc. People cooperate for selfish interest rather than welfare of all. People’s minds are polluted. They either succumb to cheating due to greed or because they lack courage to be honest and face life as it comes.

The epidemic of deceit, cheating and manipulation is leaving no one. Casualties are high. Strange that we all feel bad when cheated but we do same in one form or other. 

What is the effect?

A society characterized by suspicion, anger, conflicts, destruction. There is no need of another world war. A slow death of humanity is already in progress. The visible wars that we will see will only be the manifestation of this internal sickness called greed and deceit.

If we wish to prevent this then those sane and sensible must set the process rolling. Do not try to change others. Change yourself. Remember these three words.

Good Strong United

Good: Commit yourself to be a good human being. Even if you have done something wrong in past, do not feel hesitant. Just start the process of becoming a good human being. Eliminate every evil thought from mind. Do not compete with others in money or other worldly things. Develop your human qualities. That is your richness. The real richness. You are the best and you must know that you are better than deceitful people.

Strong:  A good human being is strong. Feel the strength of honesty inside. This is not a destructive force but is constructive energy. Stand against injustice and fight for others and your rights. Being a good human being will eliminate all fears from your mind and heart.

United: Shed hopelessness. Meet other good people and get united to uphold honesty and humanity. Slowly others will realize the importance of humanity and will follow the path. The drops of humanity will form the ocean.

Let us change our self to save humanity and create a better world for our self and coming generations.

One World One Humanity

The world of future has to be: 

One World One Humanity.

This may look like a utopian dream today but this is future of world. Time has come when the entire world must think of becoming one. This will serve the two real concerns of today’s world.

1.       It will eliminate conflicts, terrorism, arms race, danger of war including nuclear, biological and chemical war. It will eliminate inequality, differences, poverty and other problems faced by the world today.

2.       It will help in overall growth of human race in all fields – science and technology, culture, economy, healthcare and the overall quality of life.

And this is how it should be done.

1.       The entire world to become one. No country No citizenship. Everyone will be free to live anywhere. For administration purpose world would be divided into zones. Richer zones would pay to help development of poorer zones. In the long run all zones will be at par in economy and development.

2.       No governments. No rulers, No politicians. The world will be run based on global administration created and constantly improved through public referendum.  Everyone will be equal in having a say in administration. There will be three tier structures – City, Zone and World.

3.       Laws will be universal. They will give equal rights to every human being.

4.       A child born will have no religion. Every person after growing up will have choice to live without religion or adopt any religion.

5.       Every human being would be ensured

- Right to food
(To ensure minimum of everyday meals)
- Right to health
(To ensure emergency and other basic healthcare)
- Right to education
(To ensure minimum of school education to every child)
- Right to live
(To ensure safety and freedom to live a dignified life without fear)

6.       World to have two language system. Mother tongue and English as connecting language.

7.       There would be no direct taxes. Economy would be based on indirect taxes.

8.       All natural resources would be world’s property and would not be owned by any commercial organization except for development purpose.

9.       Healthy competition in business to be promoted through public participation by means of Unit Share Organizations.

10.   There would be world humanity centric development. People to have human identity instead of regional, caste, religion, language or skin color based identity.

Like said, it may look utopian today but this is future of humanity based on oneness, peace, equality and justice along with universal growth.

Set the goal, let the work begin.

It is intelligent to be honest

Honesty is the best policy, it was true, is true and will remain true. It is wise and intelligent to be honest. Being honest offers a number of benefits for us in our daily life.

·       Honesty is the easy choice

·       It is simple, logical and matter of fact.

·       It requires no manipulation. 

·       There is no fear, there is no trap.

·       It keeps your mind relaxed and stress free.

·       It helps character building

·       It gives freedom

·       It gives you credibility

·       It saves you from falsehood and embarrassment.

·       It eliminates chances of troubles in life.

·       It enhances your self esteem and confidence.

·       It improves your sleep quality.

·       By reducing stress and improving sleep, it improves health both physical and mental.

·       It improves relationships.

·       It gives you more success and that too unshakable success.

Not difficult to see, if there are so many benefits of being honest it is foolish not to be honest.
